Welcome to our Whitman County Republicans Central Committee's web site. WCRCC serves more than 40,000 constitutents who live in Whitman County which is located in 2,178 square miles of southeastern Washington. In history, Whitman County was founded on November 29, 1871. The name was honored as Marcus Whitman who led a first large group of wagons to West that developed an Oregon Trail. He and his wife, Narcissa brought more than 100,000 people to settle in the area where Whitman County was founded later. Whitman County contained many dunes of soil which is most productive for the wheat at first. Many people started farming on dunes or rolling hills.
